Your privacy, simply explained

The short version

• This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising or analytics.
• We only ask for your email address if you want the free Starter Pack, and we only use it to send you that and, if you agree, learning news from Ms Rae.
• The Word Garden game runs entirely in your browser. Names, voices and progress are never sent to us or saved anywhere.
• This website is for parents and carers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Who we are

Learn With Ms Rae is a children's learning channel and website led by Rachael Ibukun (Ms Rae), a certified Early Childhood Practitioner. For anything in this notice, please use the contact form on our About page.

What we collect, and why

Free Starter Pack signup

If you ask for the free School Readiness Starter Pack, we collect your email address so we can send you the PDF. When you sign up you will get an email asking you to confirm your address, and the PDF is released once you confirm. Your address is stored with our email service provider, Kit, which sends the emails for us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and we will then stop emailing you.

Contact form

If you send us a message, we use your name, email address and message only to reply to you.

Technical information

Like any website, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically receives your IP address and basic device information when you load a page, so the pages can be delivered and kept secure. We do not use this to identify you.

Cookies

Our own pages do not set cookies. Our fonts are stored on our own servers, not loaded from Google. If you choose the light or dark theme, your choice is remembered in your own browser's storage so the site looks the way you left it. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The free pack signup form on the home page and the Free Printables page is provided by Kit. When one of those pages loads, your browser contacts Kit's servers, which receive your IP address, and Kit may store a small cookie so the form can remember that you have already signed up. Please see Kit's privacy policy for details.

YouTube and other websites

Video thumbnails on this site are loaded from YouTube, and links to our videos open on YouTube. YouTube is run by Google, which has its own privacy rules and may set cookies once you visit it. Our channel is set as made for kids, but we still recommend a grown-up is nearby when little ones are online.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are in the UK. Use the contact form on our About page and we will respond as soon as we can.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
